I believe our spiritual drive for God is that way as well. When we begin to desperately desire God as much as we desire air, then we will possess an unquenchable passion for Him! We see that truth played out in our text this morning.

Our society is so enamored with competition. And I'm guilty of it myself, but, fortunately, I'm not as competitive as some folks. Our society is driven by competition! The passage of scripture that we're going to look at this morning actually has something to say about a competition in which each of us are involved.

Sometimes if life, we need to stop and take a stroll down memory lane just to keep things in perspective, or real. The same idea carries over into our spiritual lives as well. There are times when we need to stop and take a little stroll down memory lane in order to keep things in perspective spiritually. So, this morning we're going to look at what taking a stroll down memory lane with God involves and how it can help ignite a greater passion for Him in our lives.

The same problem can be true in our relationship with God. We can have barriers that cause problems in the relationship. Barriers that keep the relationship from being what it can be. We see that truth played out in our text this morning. In fact, we see a very specific barrier that many of us have in our lives, but choose to ignore.

Our society is fixated with choices and, as a result, we've almost taught ourselves how to NOT make them. Statistics indicate that when faced with major decisions in life we struggle to decide what we should do. I believe this struggle carries over into our spiritual lives as well. So, as we wrap up this series this morning we're going to look at what we should do when we get an answer from God...but it's not the answer we were looking to get!

"Well, that's not fair!" We've all heard it said. We've all made this statement at some point in our lives. But have we ever made this statement to God? If we're honest with ourselves, the answer is yes. You may even be there right now as you look at your life. You find yourself looking to God and asking, "Where's the fairness?" Well, in our text this morning we're going to be dealing with this issue of fairness as it relates to our circumstances and God.

How many of you have ever felt that
"AHHHHH" moment of frustration when you were trying to motivate
someone to do something and you wanted to scream out, "Are you not
listening to what I'm saying?"
We've all experienced this type of situation with family, friends or
call/help centers! But what about with
God? Have you ever felt as though God
wasn't listening to you? My guess is
that your answer to that question is "yes"...whether you'd admit it
publically or not!

I believe we, as Christians, often find ourselves unequipped to handle the temptations we encounter in life and, as a result, we make moral compromises and participate in actions, or activities, that contradict the lifestyle Jesus Christ has called us to live. Fortunately, we're not the only followers of Christ to struggle in this area and in our text this morning Paul shares with the believers in Ephesus just how they can equip themselves to win this battle. He shares how they can overcome these temptations and continue to honor God in their lives.

We all have those items in our homes that we would call a "prized possession". They are things we value tremendously and things we like for others to see. So, we place them in everyone's sight line. Now, although we're all very familiar with this phrase, I bet there's not a single one of us in this room that's ever thought of himself/ herself as being a "prized possession", but the text we're going to look at this morning reveals that we can be. In fact, this text reveals that we can become a "prized possession" in the sight of God!

I'm guessing that all of us have had those times in life when we were a little embarrassed of a relative. Or, maybe even ashamed of him/her! Sometimes, although we wouldn't want to admit it, as believers, we live as though we're ashamed of God. Well, as you might guess, this morning we're going to be talking about the idea of not being ashamed...but it's in reference into our faith in Jesus Christ!
